I was distracted by the knightley's forehead too. it gave me a headache because they were digitally smudging her forehead and eyebrow so much. my guess is that they had to blurr out the crazy vasculature that pops out because she is so skinny.

Great review. Neeson is out-standing here and gives probably one of his best performances that we have seen from him in a very long time. The rest of the film also works because there’s not only this certain paranoia going on but even when the “action” comes, it’s tense, brutal, and surprising. Best film of the year so far even though that’s definitely not saying much.

By that logic it would be cool to show someone shooting heroin in an animated kids movie. Theres a difference between children being exposed to things in their every day interactions, and them having images of those things pushed upon them without a message attached.

" I also find it hard to work out why alcohol is the main character in a children’s movie, and it is without a doubt the main character, we even see Tintin’s dog Snowy inhaling some zero-gravity whiskey. "
No the main character is Tintin.
You've juste the kids were not stupid, if not they know what alcohol is, what an alcoholic is and they have very probably already seen it from they own eyes, so what's the problem ?
If you think this could urge the kids to become alcoholic, then the kids ARE stupid.
And they should never watch ANY kind of movie at all.

Tintin is not a franchise, it's a comic-book. I don't care how much films, anime, clothes were made after its name, for it's just a comic-book, period.
Oh, and btw, a comic-book for anyone aged from "7 to 77 years old". So you see ? it's not only for the kids. ;)
