Ive been following Prof. Green’s ever growing career for a while now, and well dude just consistantly puts out good music and very nice looking vids, he’s come a very long way. Im really looking forward to all the output he has planned for this year, the first of which is this single and video which are blowing up TV and Radio right now.

I was maybe a little harsh, some of the people at the station are real good guys, but I didnt really get chance to speak to them on that night, Im talking about Andrew, Alex, Jamie, Rhupert, Will and a couple of others. The people I was sitting with though, who obviously were the people I would use to guage my opinion, were just so incredibly try hard and they just seemed to over-act like those embarressing am-dram types (Which I have spent much time with growing up, dont ask). But yea, some very good guys at the station.

Party Party?

Those of you who know me know that I basically hate people, or at least I like to think I do. There are a lot of people I like, and sadly I meet more all the time. But because of my mind set of hate and misanthropy I get pissed off when I have to enter a situation where I will meet people, and when I meet people they like me because for some reason I am likeable. I was discussing this with someone last night and we kind of agreed it may be ironic-love. From what Ive been told I can be a little intimidating, not purposely. I’m a big guy, with a beard and a load of tattoos, sometimes I can look like Im pulling a screwface but usually its just a look of complete disbelief at someone in the area’s stupidity. A lot of the time I basically look like a mix between a HipHop head and a biker, which Im not mad at (Bikers are the new Pirates, watch). So me and my friend kinda decided people like me ironically, they like to be seen to like a person like me, “Noooo he’s just a big softy, such a lovely guy”, get my drift?

Anyway Ive kinda left my point behind a little bit. The point is, Im not a fan of parties or organised events. Meeting up with people in a bar is cool, meeting up with people in a bar for an event is not. Tonight is my radio stations first annual award and election night, I have to go and this pisses me off greatly because I can pretty much guess the type of people who will be there (If Im wrong Ill blog it tomorrow). I got into radio because I love music, I have a feeling a lot of people involved in the station are involved because they like showbiz (again, if I am wrong, and I hope I am, I will blog it tomorrow), and we all know how unbearable those types can be. I think the worst part for famous musicians must be the parties and I mean that seriously. The fakery which usually surrounds such events must be such a crush on the mind. If youre at a party you have to be seen to be happy or people label you a hater, for a famed person who has to go to these events to keep up an image and profile if theyre not looking happy theyre labelled with depression and all kinds of crap. Actually, they probably are depressed because of the fucking parties.

So yeah, in conclusion, I have to go to this thing tonight and Im not particularly looking forward to it.

Just Finished Reading

Literally just finished reading this. I havent had much time for personal reading so when we got told we had to read this for one of my modules I was really happy to discover its a great book. One of the first novels to deal with the events of September 11th in any way, the story sees 9 year old child genius, and Im pretty sure on the autistic spectrum, Oskar embark on a quest to discover the lock belonging to a key he finds hidden in his dead father’s wardrobe. At times the book is incredibly heart breaking, this is testament to how well Foer builds up the characters and constructs the story. It is in no way a straight forward book, it jumps back and forth through decades, and across continents, and between characters, but it always makes sense. Its also set apart from other novels by being pretty mixed media, bringing in pictures, colour pages, blank pages, boxes, and many other unique techniques to help tell the story. Its almost like how a poet visually drive a poem by changing line arrangement and length, Foer has managed to do this for an entire novel. If you can please check this out.

I dont remember how I found out about the Werd2murs podcast but Im very happy I did. As the title suggests, one of the people involved is rapper Murs and the other is his best friend Isaiah Toothtaker. Each episode is 20-30mins of them talking about random stuff, most times pretty offensive but each time extremely funny, espescially Isaiah. Go check it at the link below!

Despite the fact Ive been following David Baddiel on Twitter for a long while now and seen his many Tweets about the new movie he has written, I have only just bothered to check it out and it looks great. Starring Omid Djalili as a devout Muslim who finds out he is actually Jewish it looks like a really good British movie, check the trailer below.
